Istitlaa, Saudi Arabia’s unified electronic platform for public and governmental consultation, has announced the launch of 47 new draft projects for public feedback. The platform, which operates under the Kingdom’s National Competitiveness Center (NCC), is collaborating with 24 government entities to enable stakeholders to provide input on new regulations before they are officially approved.
Enhancing Legislative Transparency
The initiative underscores a commitment to enhancing transparency within the legislative environment. By publishing draft laws and regulations, the Istitlaa platform aims to foster a culture of public consultation and actively involve the public, government bodies, and the private sector in the process of shaping the nation’s business and economic framework.
Diverse Sectors Under Review
The newly proposed projects span a wide range of economic and developmental areas. Notable drafts include a proposal from the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to amend regulations, potentially allowing financial institutions to offer robo-advisory services. Other projects open for feedback include new mechanisms and controls for taxi services from the Public Transport Authority, regulations to protect data privacy and ensure integrity from the General Authority for Statistics, and amendments to housing support regulations from the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
Fostering Economic And Cultural Development
Beyond business-focused regulations, the latest batch of projects also includes initiatives aimed at broader societal goals. One such project seeks to enhance and preserve national cultural heritage by supporting traditional crafts and handmade industries, demonstrating the platform’s comprehensive approach to national development.
