Shorooq Partners Unveils $200 Million Late-Stage Fund Backed By QIA

UAE-based investment firm Shorooq Partners has announced the launch of a $200 million late-stage growth fund as part of its Qatalyst Series. The major new fund, which was unveiled at Web Summit Qatar, is backed by the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and other sovereign and institutional investors from across the GCC and Asia.

Bridging The Late-Stage Funding Gap

The Qatalyst fund is designed to address a persistent gap in the MENA region’s capital markets by providing consistent, institutional funding for mature companies. It will target late-stage and pre-IPO businesses that demonstrate proven scale, strong fundamentals, and a clear pathway to an exit, particularly through public listings.

By focusing on this segment, Shorooq aims to institutionalize the region’s late-stage engine and make public-market readiness a more repeatable outcome for the ecosystem’s top scale-ups as the GCC enters a new technology and liquidity cycle.

A Full-Stack Investment Platform

This launch marks a significant step in Shorooq’s evolution into a full-stack investment platform. With established early-stage venture capital vehicles and credit strategies already in place, the addition of the late-stage growth fund allows the firm to support founders across the entire capital stack. This positions Shorooq to provide capital and hands-on value creation from a company’s early stages through to its pre-IPO execution.

A Partner For The Full Founder Journey

“This Fund represents a natural evolution of our platform and how we partner with founders across their full growth journey,” said Mahmoud Adi, Founding Partner at Shorooq Partners.

“With our venture capital vehicles, credit strategies, and now a dedicated late-stage growth fund, we are uniquely positioned to support companies across the entire venture capital stack—from early conviction to late-stage scale and public market readiness. QIA’s backing reinforces our commitment to deploying institutional capital in support of enduring, category-defining companies.”
