3 Min Read

Ajman University has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Ajman Bank to establish the Ajman Bank Financial Markets Lab. This initiative, backed by a significant investment, aims to provide students with a practical, real-world learning environment for finance and banking, directly aligning with Ajman’s vision for a knowledge-based economy.

Bridging Theory and Practice

The partnership is a direct result of the directives from H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University. The core objective is to strengthen applied education by creating an environment that mirrors live financial and banking operations, giving students invaluable hands-on experience.

This collaboration supports Ajman Vision 2030 by fostering deeper integration between academic institutions and key economic sectors, preparing a new generation of finance professionals equipped with practical skills.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, and Mustafa Al Khalfawi, CEO of Ajman Bank.

A State-of-the-Art Facility

Ajman Bank is supporting the project with a significant investment of AED 5 million, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing specialized academic infrastructure in the emirate.

The lab will span an area of 160 m² and feature 36 trading stations, accommodating up to 40 students at once. To simulate a real trading floor, the facility will be equipped with a live market ticker, illuminated digital panels, and licenses for the global “Bloomberg” system, a premier platform for financial data analysis and decision-making.

A Commitment To Financial Literacy

Beyond student training, the initiative will also serve the wider community. Dr. Seghir stated that the lab will provide students with direct access to market data and trading tools while also offering free community programs in financial literacy to raise economic awareness.

Mustafa Al Khalfawi emphasized that the initiative supports Ajman’s vision of building an integrated educational system that links knowledge with practical application. He added that “investing in people is the key to sustainable progress” and contributes to preparing generations capable of leading the future effectively.
