Global alternative investment firm Investcorp has announced the final close of its Golden Horizon Cooperation Fund at $750 million. The new fund, launched in partnership with China Investment Corporation (CIC), one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, will focus on bridging investment opportunities between the GCC and China.
A GCC-China Investment Bridge
The Golden Horizon Cooperation Fund is designed to invest in high-growth, profitable companies across the consumer, healthcare, logistics, and business services sectors in both the GCC and China. The collaboration between Investcorp and CIC aims to provide portfolio companies with strategic support to scale their operations and deepen commercial ties between the two powerhouse regions, fostering significant cross-border expansion and value creation. The fund has attracted commitments from a diverse group of LPs, including Jada Fund of Funds, Saudi Venture Capital (SVC), Silk Road Fund, and the Bank of China.
Strategic Focus and Exit Horizon
The fund targets established companies with proven scale and maturity that are well-positioned for a public market listing or a strategic exit. The primary objective is to achieve value multiplication through potential IPOs or strategic trade sales within a three-to-five-year timeframe. Sana Khater, CEO of Investcorp Capital, stated, “Our investment in the platform reflects our confidence in its ability to capture growth opportunities across high-potential industries. At Investcorp Capital, we remain focused on seeking to deliver long-term value for our shareholders by providing access to attractive investment opportunities in private markets.”
Initial GCC Portfolio Investments
The Golden Horizon fund has already completed three key investments in the GCC, showcasing its commitment to backing regional leaders:
- NourNet: A leading ICT services provider based in Saudi Arabia.
- Trukker: MENA’s on-demand digital trucking aggregator with operations across the Middle East and Europe.
- Salla: A prominent Saudi-based SaaS e-commerce enablement platform for SMEs.
