GIZ Egypt and Plug and Play have launched the Egypt Climate Invest Programme (ECIP), an initiative designed to catalyze climate innovation and investment in Egypt by connecting financial institutions with visionary climate tech startups.

Program Overview

The Egypt Climate Invest Programme (ECIP) is a 20-month project designed to bridge the gap between financial players and climate tech startups in Egypt. The program features two main tracks: one for financial players to build their capacity in climate investment, and another for climate tech startups to become investment-ready and poised for growth.

Eligibility Criteria for Startups

  • Traction & Validation: Must have a clear revenue model and robust financial projections demonstrating strong potential for profitability.
  • Team & Governance: Must have a strong, experienced, and committed founding team.
  • Scalability: Must have the potential and readiness to expand into new markets.

How to Apply

Applications for the Climate Tech Startups track are now open. While no specific deadline has been announced for startups, interested entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply promptly through the official application portal. The deadline for the separate Financial Players track is October 23, 2025.
