Program Overview
Launched in 2004, the Research and Innovation Support Project is designed to empower youth to innovate by bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application. The program seeks to provide practical solutions to national challenges by supporting qualitative, sustainable projects that may lead to patents or industrial models.
Participants can pursue one of two tracks:
- Free Projects: Research or projects agreed upon by professors and their students.
- Proposed Projects: Specific challenges or projects proposed by the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB).

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for support, the project and applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Purpose: The project/research must be strictly for university graduation purposes.
- Nature: It must be creative and applied in nature.
- Budget: The required funding must not exceed 5,000 JOD.
- Team Size: There must be at least two students participating in the project (Bachelor’s level).
- Academic Standing: Applicants must have a cumulative GPA/rating of at least “Good.”
- Timeline: The work duration must be between 6 months and one year.
Evaluation Criteria
Projects are selected based on the following metrics:
- Innovation: Level of creativity, modernity, and novelty of the idea.
- Output Potential: Potential to result in an industrial model, patent, or distinguished scientific publication.
- Sustainability: Possibility for future development and contribution to Jordan’s scientific or industrial sectors.
- Methodology: Clarity of the work plan, realism, and adherence to the timeline.
- Budget: Realism of the requested financial budget.
- Competence: The cognitive level of the students and the academic supervisor regarding the project field.
