As part of its strategic push to accelerate digital transformation, Kuwait will host a national Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hackathon in February 2026. The initiative was announced during the SAP Innovation Day Forum and marks a significant collaboration between global enterprise software giant SAP and Kuwait University.
The hackathon aims to galvanize the nation’s tech ecosystem by uniting key stakeholders to address complex challenges with cutting-edge AI solutions.
A Strategic Partnership for Innovation
The announcement was made by Sundus Bushahri, General Manager of SAP Kuwait, who highlighted the collaborative nature of the event. The initiative is designed to create a dynamic platform that brings together government agencies, academic institutions, and emerging local innovators.
According to Bushahri, the goal is to foster a competitive environment where participants can develop advanced AI applications, directly contributing to the country’s technological advancement.
Aligning with National Digital Transformation Goals
The initiative has strong government backing, underscoring its importance to Kuwait’s national agenda. Speaking at the forum, Omar Al-Omar, Kuwait’s Minister of State for Communications, reiterated the government’s commitment to building a modern digital system.
Al-Omar emphasized that digitalization is a critical pillar for a robust and competitive national economy. He noted that such programs are essential for boosting governmental efficiency and fostering a thriving economic landscape.
Investing in Kuwait’s Future Tech Talent
