The 12th edition of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of the Qatar Foundation, is set to convene on November 24-25 in Doha. The global summit will bring together education leaders, innovators, and changemakers at the Qatar National Convention Centre under the theme “Humanity.io: Human Values at the Heart of Education,” aiming to address how education can remain adaptable and relevant in an era of rapid technological advancement.
Redefining Education In The Age Of AI
WISE 12 will focus on advancing conversations around education’s role in serving humanity, exploring system-level changes rooted in human values. The theme’s “.io” serves as a symbolic bridge between innovation (input) and human-centric outcomes (output). The summit’s agenda is structured around five interconnected pillars: putting human needs and well-being first, championing progressive and inquiry-based learning, navigating the skills revolution in higher education, catalyzing multi-sectoral systems change, and a pillar hosted by the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation on centering education for economic opportunity and community resilience.
MENA Innovators Among Global Finalists
A key moment of the summit will be the announcement of the 2025 WISE Prize for Education winner. This year’s finalists include two notable EdTech startups from the MENA region, highlighting the growing innovation in the sector. Qatar’s Bonocle, which transforms Braille learning through gamified tactile technology, and Jordan’s Iqrali.jo, a platform empowering parents to nurture early Arabic literacy, are among the six global finalists. They are joined by Chile’s AprendoEnCasa Connecta, U.S.-based Darsel, Nigeria’s FastTrack+, and Armenia’s TUMO Path, all recognized for their scalable and impactful solutions in education.
A Global Dialogue Hosted In Doha
Stavros N. Yiannouka, CEO of WISE, emphasized the summit’s role in shaping a collective vision for the future of learning. “WISE 12 builds on two years of dialogue and discovery that began with the previous summit – a journey that has taken us across regions, perspectives, and lived realities,” he stated. “As the world stands at the crossroads of technological acceleration and human aspiration, WISE 12 is where those global conversations combine. ‘Humanity.io’ is a call to design an education ecosystem where innovation amplifies human potential rather than replaces it.” The summit aims to produce an equitable, ethical, and future-ready vision for global education, solidifying Doha’s position as a hub for this critical dialogue.
