2 Min Read

InnoTech, in partnership with bp Oman, has launched the fourth cycle of its FabTech Mobile Laboratory, an initiative designed to enhance interactive learning and strengthen the scientific culture among students in the Sultanate. This year’s cycle introduces cutting-edge technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to inspire the next generation of Omani innovators.

By the Numbers

The latest cycle has already demonstrated significant reach and expanded capabilities:

  • 600+ Students: The number of students engaged during the lab’s visit to six schools across the Ad’Dakhiliyah and Muscat governorates.
  • 100% Capacity Increase: The lab’s interior was expanded, doubling its capacity from 6–8 participants to 12 per workshop.
  • New Technologies: The program now includes VR, IoT, and AI alongside existing features like 3D printing and CNC machines.

Empowering Students with Future-Ready Skills

The FabTech Mobile Lab provides students with hands-on experience in modern manufacturing technologies. “Our goal is to empower students to transform ideas into tangible products, while fostering innovation through AI integration,” said Eng. Othman Al-Mandhari, Founder and CEO of InnoTech. By bringing advanced tools directly to schools, the initiative plays a key role in inspiring a new generation of innovators through practical, workshop-based education.

A Commitment to Oman Vision 2040

The initiative is closely aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to build a knowledge-based, innovative economy. Ibrahim Al Hinai, Social Investment Manager at bp Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar, emphasized this alignment, noting that the program will continue visiting schools in the Ad’Dakhiliyah and Ad’Dhahirah governorates. “This initiative not only advances education but also supports innovation, equipping youth with the skills needed for the future economy,” he said.
