Egypt’s Education Development Fund Kicks Off Evaluation for Talented Student Projects

The Education Development Fund, which operates under the Presidency of the Egyptian Council of Ministers, has launched the evaluation phase for talented students’ projects as part of its 21st Century Skills project. The initiative, held under the slogan “From Talent to Professionalism,” features judging committees of experts in the fields of arts and entrepreneurship.


By the Numbers

The first day of evaluations saw a large and competitive turnout from young innovators:

  • 179+ Projects: The number of projects submitted in the entrepreneurship category, with 10 qualifying for the next stage so far.
  • 29 Competitors: The number of students who participated in the arts category.
  • 6 Students: The number of participants from the arts track who have qualified for technical, financial, and training support.

A Platform for Future Professionals

The evaluation events are designed to discover and nurture young talent by providing them with the support needed to transition from the experimentation phase to professionalism, enhancing their opportunities in the labor market. The first day of the event saw presentations from a large number of student projects across the two main tracks.

Dr. Rasha Saad Sharaf, Secretary-General of the Education Development Fund, affirmed that the project is part of the state’s strategy to build an innovative generation capable of keeping pace with the demands of the modern era. Dr. Rania Nakhil, the project director, added that the goal is to discover and develop young talents through technical, financial, and training support.


A Focus on Viability and Impact

The judging committees include a selection of experts from leading academic institutions and the private sector. Dr. Ihab Al-Issawy, the Fund’s entrepreneurship consultant, noted that the entrepreneurship committee focused on projects with economic feasibility and applicability, confirming that the qualifying projects will receive integrated support to help them compete locally and internationally. The Education Development Fund emphasized that these events represent an important step toward building a promising future for Egyptian youth, based on creativity, knowledge, and entrepreneurship.
