Egyptian edtech startup Farid has announced its expansion into Saudi Arabia, establishing a new central operations office in Riyadh. This strategic move marks the company’s first regional expansion and is supported by a significant local partnership, positioning Farid for further growth ahead of its planned seed funding round in Q4 2025.
Strategic Partnership to Empower Saudi Youth
Anchoring its entry into the Kingdom, Farid has signed a three-year strategic partnership valued at $1.3 million (SAR 4.5 million) with the Amad Association for Human Capacity Development. This collaboration aims to align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by focusing on youth empowerment. The initiative will train and certify 500 Saudi university graduates to become coaches in Farid’s methodology and deliver specialized educational programs to more than 4,000 children and adolescents. These programs will focus on character building, critical thinking, and innovation.
A Unique Approach to Character Education
Founded in 2024 by Mahmoud Hussein, Farid is an edtech platform dedicated to character education and mental health support for children and youth aged 3 to 18. It is the first platform in the MENA region to offer live, one-on-one sessions focused on personality development and mental well-being for Arab children. In addition to its youth programs, Farid also provides training courses for graduates to become certified coaches in its educational and psychological framework.
Vision for Regional Impact
The expansion into Saudi Arabia is a key step in Farid’s long-term vision, dubbed “Farid 2030.” The company aims to certify 10,000 trainers and empower 10 million children and youth across the Arab world through its specialized programs. Mahmoud Hussein, founder and CEO of Farid, described the move as a “transformational milestone” in the company’s journey to become a leader in educational innovation and psychological support for the region’s youth.
