The University of Continuing Formation (UFC) in Algeria has inaugurated the National Week for Digital Education, running from September 23-30, 2025. Held under the theme “Digital Education is a Gain for the University of Algeria,” the event showcases the nation’s strategic commitment to embedding digital transformation within its higher education system.
Showcasing Digital Milestones
During the opening ceremony, UFC Director Professor Yahya Jafri highlighted digital transformation as a top priority. He shared significant progress made by the university, including the training of over 800 professors in modern media technologies, the development of 683 online lessons, with 120 offered in English, and the launch of 68 specialized digital platforms designed to enhance student learning experiences.
A Week of Collaboration and Knowledge-Sharing
The week-long event features a series of scientific presentations covering topics such as Algeria’s online documentation system, visual distance learning, and the creation of digital resources for the Arabic language. It also includes exhibitions from key national partners, including the National Council of University Publications and the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation.
Expanding Access to Digital Resources
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the UFC and the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language. This landmark partnership grants UFC students access to a comprehensive digital library containing over 12,000 books, significantly expanding the academic resources available to them and reinforcing the university’s commitment to accessible knowledge.
