The Kuwait Municipality has officially launched Baladia 139, a new mobile application designed to digitize public service requests and improve communication between residents and municipal authorities. The launch marks a significant step in Kuwait’s broader strategy to enhance government efficiency and transparency through technology.
Streamlining Complaints with Real-Time Tracking
The Baladia 139 app provides a direct channel for residents to report civic violations and service issues. According to Mohammad Al-Sandan, the Municipality’s Director of Public Relations, users can submit complaints by uploading photos and sharing precise location details directly through the platform. This new system promises to expedite resolutions, with reported issues being addressed within a timeframe of four to 72 hours, depending on their severity. To close the loop, users receive real-time status updates and a confirmation photo once the matter is fully resolved.
A Data-Driven Approach to Municipal Accountability
Beyond its public-facing features, the Baladia 139 system serves as an internal performance management tool. The platform enables the Kuwait Municipality to monitor the response times and efficiency of its inspectors and staff, generating monthly reports on service quality. This data-driven approach is aimed at ensuring greater accountability and fostering a more responsive and effective municipal workforce. Al-Sandan also confirmed that the app will receive continuous updates to enhance its functionality and maintain stable performance.
