The 7th Gulf Businesswomen Forum concluded in Doha, urging a significant push towards digital transformation and the adoption of modern technologies for women-led enterprises across the GCC. The two-day event, held under the theme “Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Investment,” was organized by the Federation of GCC Chambers in collaboration with the Qatar Chamber.

The forum brought together prominent businesswomen, entrepreneurs, and officials to discuss strategies for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of female-owned businesses in the evolving regional economy.

A Unified Push for Digital and Non-Traditional Sectors

The forum’s final recommendations emphasized the critical need for women entrepreneurs to embrace digital solutions to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. A key call to action was to encourage women to enter promising and non-traditional economic sectors such as technology, fintech, renewable energy, and creative industries.

To facilitate this transition, the forum advocated for specialized training and qualification programs designed to equip women with the necessary skills to thrive in these high-growth areas. Discussions also covered the role of modern technologies in developing women’s projects and navigating challenges in unconventional investments.

New Platform to Foster GCC Collaboration

A major outcome of the event was the official launch of the “Gulf Businesswomen Platform.” This digital initiative is designed to serve as a unified database for female entrepreneurs across the Gulf, facilitating communication, networking, and the exchange of investment opportunities.

The platform aims to support women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through joint financing and training initiatives, creating a more interconnected and collaborative ecosystem for female founders in the region.

From Traditional to Innovative Ventures

Working sessions explored the transition of women’s entrepreneurship from traditional sectors to innovative fields. One panel, “Gulf Entrepreneurs: From Traditional to Innovation,” examined the role of education in empowering women to pursue modern investments aligned with the region’s Vision 2030 goals.

Another key discussion focused on the importance of arbitration in protecting the investments of businesswomen. Experts highlighted how fair contracts and effective commercial dispute resolution mechanisms are essential for fostering a secure and trustworthy business environment.

Highlighting Regional Success Stories

The forum also served as a platform to showcase inspiring success stories from across the GCC. Qatari jewelry designer Juhara Al Manaai shared the journey of her brand “Ghand,” established in 2015.

Bahraini jewelry designer Amal Snd spoke about her project, Kyan Jewelry, and her success in international forums. From Saudi Arabia, beauty artist Shuaa Dahilan recounted her pioneering story in the beauty and makeup industry in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province.
