UAE’s AI Real Estate Startup Smart Bricks Lands $5 Million In a16z-Led Pre-Seed Round

Dubai-based Smart Bricks, a frontier AI lab developing infrastructure for real estate investing, has announced a landmark $5 million pre-seed funding round. The round was led by renowned Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z Speedrun), with significant participation from a global syndicate of funds and angel investors.

Bringing AI-Native Infrastructure To A Trillion-Dollar Asset Class

Founded in 2024, Smart Bricks is on a mission to re-architect how real estate is discovered, underwritten, and transacted on a global scale. The company addresses the long-standing inefficiencies in what remains the last major asset class without a modern, AI-native technology stack. Traditionally, real estate investment decisions rely on a handful of data points and broker narratives, a process that can take months.

“Global real estate is one of the largest asset classes in the world, yet most individual and cross-border investors are still operating with PDFs, WhatsApp threads, incomplete data, and opaque fees,” said Mohamed Mohamed, Founder and CEO of Smart Bricks. “Institutions have proprietary data, AI underwriting, and integrated execution. Everyone else is effectively flying blind. Smart Bricks closes that gap.”

How It Works An AI-Powered Operating System

Smart Bricks is building autonomous reasoning systems designed to allow capital to identify, evaluate, and execute real estate investments end-to-end. The platform ingests over one million proprietary and public data feeds, applying agentic AI to continuously analyze supply, pricing, liquidity, regulation, and risk across global markets.

This sophisticated analysis allows the platform to surface only the top 0.1% of properties based on their expected risk-adjusted return. From there, it automates up to 99% of the investment workflow, including valuation, underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, financing, and post-transaction support, compressing a months-long process into minutes.

A New Standard For Global Investors

The platform is designed for both retail and institutional operators deploying capital in major markets like Dubai, London, New York, and Miami. Instead of operating as a marketplace, Smart Bricks provides the core AI infrastructure layer for modern real estate investing. This gives investors access to ranked opportunities and real-time intelligence that mirror the capabilities of top-tier private equity funds.

“Investors in public markets already expect instant insight, scenario analysis, and AI-driven recommendations,” Mohamed added. “We bring that same level of speed, intelligence, and confidence to global real estate, allowing capital to move with institutional precision across borders.”

Backed By Global Tech Titans

The backing from a16z signals strong validation for a MENA-based startup operating at the intersection of AI and proptech. The company’s investor roster also includes Techstars, 500 Global, Cornerstone VC, South Loop Ventures, and Harvard Business School Alumni Angels. Furthermore, it has attracted angel investors from leading technology firms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind, Airbnb, and Blackstone.

Smart Bricks is also an alumnus of prestigious accelerator programs including Google AI First, Microsoft GrowthX, and the NVIDIA Inception programme. Its selection into the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) Innovation Accelerator has been instrumental in providing strategic mentorship and access to national innovation networks.
