ADNOC Forges Three Strategic Deals With Gecko Robotics To Boost AI Integration in UAE

3 Min Read

ADNOC, the UAE’s energy giant, has significantly deepened its collaboration with US-based Gecko Robotics, signing three new strategic agreements to accelerate the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence across its vast operations. The partnership also aims to advance critical skills development for UAE Nationals, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce.

Announced at the ENACT Majlis in Abu Dhabi, the agreements signal a major push by ADNOC to enhance operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and embed data-driven maintenance practices using cutting-edge technology.

A Three-Pronged Strategy for Tech Advancement

The collaboration is structured around three core pillars. The first agreement involves a multi-year technology deployment for ADNOC Gas, spearheaded by AIQ, ADNOC’s joint venture with Presight. This deal marks AIQ’s inaugural entry into the robotics sector.

A second agreement will see ADNOC and Gecko Robotics collaborate on expanding the use of robotic systems and AI-powered analytics across all of ADNOC’s operations. This includes exploring local manufacturing opportunities and developing bespoke AI solutions tailored to the company’s specific needs.
The third agreement focuses on human capital, establishing a partnership between Gecko Robotics and the ADNOC Technical Academy (ATA) to deliver specialized training programs designed to upskill UAE talent in robotics and AI.

A Vision For An AI-Powered Energy Future

The strategic move underscores ADNOC’s ambition to lead the energy sector’s technological transformation. The company’s leadership views AI and advanced tech as central to its future growth and operational excellence.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, ADNOC’s Managing Director and Group CEO, said: “ADNOC is harnessing the power of AI and advanced technology to transform the way we work, driving greater efficiency, safety and performance across our operations. These three agreements mark another stop on our journey to becoming the world’s most AI-enabled energy company as we accelerate robotics deployment, empower local talent and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for energy innovation.”

Jake Loosararian, CEO of Gecko Robotics, added: “There is a race to lead the AI and energy moment. And the energy companies that win won’t just utilize technology, they will become technology companies. There is only one way to win this race and that’s to acquire physical data using robotics and unlocking human and machine performance from the AI that data fuels.”
