Emergent, a US-based agentic coding platform, has successfully raised $23 million in a Series A funding round led by Lightspeed. Founded in San Francisco in 2025 by Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, the company provides a platform where autonomous AI agents build full-stack, production-ready applications, with plans to use the new capital to accelerate its expansion into the Middle East.
The “App in a Button” Platform
Emergent positions itself as an AI-powered “no-code meets full-stack” platform, designed to democratize software development. The platform offers an “App in a Button” experience by using specialized AI agents to autonomously handle complex tasks like coding, server management, logins, payments, and scaling. This approach significantly reduces the complexity, time, and cost associated with building software.
“For decades, the biggest barrier to innovation has been access to technical talent and capital,” said Mukund Jha, Emergent Co-founder and CEO. “We designed Emergent to remove those barriers so that anyone, from a shopkeeper to a startup founder, can bring their vision to life at a fraction of the time and cost.”
Strategic Expansion Into The Middle East
A primary goal for the new funding is to fuel Emergent’s expansion into high-growth regions, with a specific focus on the Middle East. The company has identified a significant opportunity in the region due to heavy government investment in digital transformation and SME empowerment, driven by initiatives such as UAE Vision 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030. Emergent aims to foster innovation for entrepreneurs, creators, and enterprises across MENA and Asia.
“In regions like MENA, where governments are driving digital-first economies and SMEs form the backbone of growth, we see a tremendous opportunity,” Jha commented. “Our platform ensures that innovation is no longer limited to software engineers, it belongs to everyone.”
