The Ajman Business Women Council (AJBWC) has officially launched the “Takamul” initiative, a new program designed to champion and support women’s entrepreneurship within the industrial sector. The launch took place during the “Makers of Tomorrow” forum, an event organized by the council to foster a sustainable industrial ecosystem for entrepreneurs in the emirate.

An Integrated Platform for Industrial Innovation

The “Takamul” initiative aims to provide a comprehensive platform that helps transform entrepreneurial ideas into innovative and sustainable industrial projects. The program will initially focus on three key sectors with high potential for female-led businesses: textiles, food, and perfumes & cosmetics.

According to Iman Obaid Al-Suom, Secretary-General of the AJBWC, the initiative is designed to create an industrial-friendly environment by providing essential tools, resources, and a strong support network. The goal is to facilitate the launch of new industrial ventures and build a collaborative community for women in the sector.

Strategic Alignment and Economic Empowerment

Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Chairwoman of the AJBWC, emphasized the council’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and increasing their contribution to the industrial economy. She stated that the initiative aligns with the strategic goals of Ajman Vision 2030 by facilitating access to finance, technical support, and critical management skills.

Adding to this, Eng. Aisha Khalfan bin Badr Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the AJBWC, noted that the launch of “Takamul” coincides with the “Year of the Family 2026.” She highlighted that the initiative is designed to enhance the economic and social stability of women and their families by offering a sustainable platform for training and capacity building.

Fostering Collaboration and Access to Finance

The “Makers of Tomorrow” forum brought together key ecosystem stakeholders, including officials from the Emirates Development Bank (EDB), government representatives, and factory owners.

A session led by Khalid Moqled, Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Entrepreneurship, guided attendees on turning small ideas into viable industrial projects, covering feasibility studies and product development. Another session featured success stories from local factory owners who shared insights on product innovation and market expansion, fostering knowledge exchange.

Highlighting the critical role of funding, Maryam Saif Al Nuaimi, Executive Vice President of Distribution and Services at Emirates Development Bank, delivered a presentation on financing opportunities available to female entrepreneurs. She detailed the support mechanisms offered through the “EDB 360” platform, which is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs across the UAE.
