Algeria has taken a significant step in bolstering its burgeoning tech ecosystem by hosting the National Salon for Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship. The three-day event, organized by Liqa’a Shabab Al-Jaza’ir in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was held at the Abdelhafid Ihaddaden Scientific and Technological Hub in Sidi Abdellah.

The gathering was designed to support innovation, promote the national digital economy, and embed a strong culture of entrepreneurship among the country’s youth.

A National Platform for Young Innovators

The salon served as a major convergence point for the next generation of Algerian tech talent, bringing together 1,000 young entrepreneurs and innovators from across the country. A central feature was a national exhibition showcasing 100 innovative projects.

These projects were carefully selected through a rigorous process by provincial judging committees, which included university professors, industry experts, and established entrepreneurs, ensuring a high standard of quality and potential.

Fostering Competition and Creative Solutions

A key component of the program was a national marathon that saw 300 young participants compete to develop novel technological and entrepreneurial solutions to pressing challenges. This competitive element was structured to accelerate ideation and push participants to build practical, innovative applications for their ideas.

Culmination of the Shabab UP Initiative

The event also marked the official conclusion of the “Shabab UP” national project, a country-wide initiative aimed at empowering young Algerians. The salon was held under the project’s motivational slogan, “Youth Innovates… a Nation Prospers,” underscoring the government’s strategic focus on youth-led innovation as a driver for national development.
