Algeria Launches 72 Hour Entrepreneurship Marathon to Boost Youth Innovation

The “Shab Fikra” national caravan has officially launched the “72 Entrepreneurial Hours in Algeria” event, a three-day intensive program designed to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among the nation’s youth. The initiative kicked off with high-level support, notably from Omar Rekkache, the Director General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI), signaling a strong governmental push towards fostering innovation.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures including the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Assembly, representatives from the Council of the Nation, members of the Algerian diaspora, and experts from the Higher Council for Youth.

A Platform for Connection and Skill Building

Over the course of three days, the event will provide young aspiring entrepreneurs with a dynamic environment for growth. The program is structured around a series of training workshops, interactive lectures, and direct meetings with investors and industry experts.

This format is designed to equip participants with practical skills for launching and scaling new ventures while offering invaluable opportunities to build professional networks and exchange knowledge with seasoned professionals.

Government Focus on Strategic Investment

In his opening remarks, Omar Rekkache praised youth-led initiatives that encourage the creation of new enterprises. He highlighted AAPI’s policy of directing investments towards vital and priority sectors for the national economy.
Rekkache emphasized the importance of ventures that promote local production and innovation, which are crucial for reducing the country’s import bill and strengthening economic sovereignty.

Engaging the Algerian Diaspora

The Director General also underscored the critical role of the Algerian diaspora in the nation’s development. He extended an open invitation to Algerian professionals and entrepreneurs living abroad to invest in their home country.
Rekkache affirmed that AAPI’s doors remain open to provide comprehensive support, guidance, and assistance to diaspora members looking to transform their investment projects into tangible realities on the ground in Algeria.
