The Algerian Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has launched a “Training of Trainers” program in robotics as part of its ongoing mission to enhance digital competencies across the nation. The new initiative is being hosted at the Skills Center in the city of Annaba and aims to build a strong foundation for advanced technology education in the country.
A Strategic Push For Advanced Tech Skills
This program is a key component of the ministry’s broader strategy to leverage its national network of Skills Centers as hubs for free education in fields critical to Algeria’s digital transformation. The government is focusing on developing local talent in high-demand areas, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Cybersecurity, to foster innovation and prepare the workforce for the future economy.
Collaborative Execution In Annaba
The Annaba-based training program is being implemented through a collaborative effort. It brings together the Skills Center with the Annaba Youth Club for Programming and Robotics, operating under the supervision of the local Directorate of Youth and Sports. This partnership model highlights a multi-stakeholder approach to developing the local tech ecosystem by engaging youth-focused organizations.
Expanding The National Network Of Skills Centers
The initiative is part of a national rollout plan for advanced technology education. Currently, specialized Skills Centers are operational in four strategic locations: Setif, Annaba, Chlef, and Oran. The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has announced plans for the gradual establishment of these centers across all remaining states in Algeria, ensuring wider access to critical digital skills training.
