This event invites Syrian youth and professionals to develop innovative prototypes that merge digital technology with historical preservation.

Hackathon Overview

This hackathon creates an innovative space bringing together youth, experts, and cultural institutions to explore practical ways to utilize digital technologies—specifically 3D printing—for the protection and revival of Aleppo’s heritage. The event is part of the “Establishing a 3D Innovation Makerspace at Aleppo University” project.

Over two days of intensive work, participants will collaborate in small teams to transform concepts into tangible prototypes. The program includes introductory sessions on Aleppo’s architectural heritage, practical introductions to 3D printing, and technical mentorship. The event culminates in a final presentation where teams pitch their solutions to a specialized judging panel.

Focus Areas

Teams are encouraged to develop ideas and early prototypes surrounding the following themes:

  • Documentation: Digital documentation of damaged heritage buildings.
  • Reproduction: Recreating non-structural heritage architectural elements using 3D printing.
  • Education: Creating educational and awareness tools related to Aleppine heritage.
