The fifth edition of the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders is underway in Dubai, gathering prominent policymakers and youth leaders to spotlight innovation and sustainable development. The event, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Arab Youth Centre, features a series of interactive sessions aimed at translating youth-led ideas into tangible, long-term regional impact.
Fostering Sustainable Impact
This year’s meeting marks a strategic shift from simply launching initiatives to measuring their sustainable outcomes. The program is designed to showcase youth achievements in leadership, science, and the creative economy through panel discussions and presentations, including projects like the Satellite 813 initiative and digital gaming ventures.
Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Arab Youth Centre, emphasized this focus in his remarks, stating the meeting reflects a move towards underscoring the role of Arab youth in developing practical models for growth and development.
New Programs to Drive Economic Transformation
A key highlight of the event was the announcement of two major initiatives. Fatima Al Hallami, CEO of the Arab Youth Centre, unveiled the launch of the Arab Youth Leaders in the New Economy Program, a new track designed to prepare young leaders for the region’s ongoing economic transformation by aligning their priorities with emerging opportunities.
In addition, the event saw the launch of the Arab Youth Space Hackathon. Organized in collaboration with the UAE Space Agency and the Arab Space Cooperation Group, the hackathon aims to foster innovation in the burgeoning space technology sector.
A Platform for Regional Empowerment
The meeting serves as a critical platform for exchanging ideas and best practices in youth empowerment. It brings together key institutions and young innovators to discuss capacity-building, skills development, and strengthening the regional support ecosystem.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, described the gathering as an expanding platform for youth empowerment and skills development, noting its importance amidst accelerating global change and increased competition among nations.
