The Asir Innovates 2025 Hackathon has officially launched, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts from across Saudi Arabia to develop creative solutions for the region’s most pressing challenges. Organized by the Asir Development Authority, the event is hosted at King Khalid University from August 14-16.

The three-day event is designed to generate significant impact and foster collaboration:

The hackathon aims to harness the power of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and augmented reality to create practical solutions that support sustainable development in the Asir region. Beyond the main competition, the hackathon features a rich program including scientific workshops, insightful panel discussions, and an exhibition. Day One: High-Level Dialogues on Growth
The first day featured several key discussions. The first panel, titled “Empowering Innovation,” included representatives from the Digital Government Authority and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), focusing on the government’s role in enabling innovation. A second panel with speakers from the Ministry of Investment, “Security-Centric Innovation,” explored the impact of venture capital and tech infrastructure on the growth of the Kingdom’s startup ecosystem.

The overarching goal of Asir Innovates 2025 is to lead the digital transformation of the region. By stimulating innovation, attracting top national talent, and fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, the hackathon aims to firmly establish Asir as a leading regional hub for technology and innovation.
