Bahrain Cements Regional Leadership with Triple Win at Digital Government Awards

The Kingdom of Bahrain has reinforced its position as a digital pioneer within the GCC, securing three prestigious awards at the 6th GCC Digital Government Awards held in Kuwait. The accolades recognize innovative projects developed by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), underscoring the nation’s commitment to advancing digital services and citizen engagement.

A Trifecta of Digital Excellence

Bahrain’s digital initiatives were celebrated across multiple categories. The iGA’s National eParticipation Platform, ‘Tawasul’, earned first place for ‘Best Practice in Community eParticipation’, highlighting its success in fostering a direct channel for citizen feedback on government services and policies. The Authority’s ‘MyGov’ app also received the Recognition Award in the ‘Best Unified Government App’ category for its integrated approach to service delivery.

In a significant win for cybersecurity education, the National Cyber Security Centre’s ‘Cyber Guardian Game’ secured first place in the ‘Best Educational Digital Game’ category. The game is designed to raise cybersecurity awareness among young people in an engaging and interactive format.

Vision-Driven Digital Transformation

Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the iGA, attributed the success to Bahrain’s national vision for digital excellence, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He emphasized that these achievements reflect the strategic direction of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to drive innovation and enhance government efficiency for all citizens and residents.

Al Qaed also commended the role of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), chaired by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, in steering the Kingdom’s ambitious digital transformation journey.
