The Bahrain Society for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises has successfully concluded the seventh edition of its “Economic Decision-Makers” program, announcing plans to offer the initiative annually following its positive impact on the Kingdom’s startup ecosystem. The three-month program, held in collaboration with Ahlia University, equipped participants with critical knowledge and tools to navigate the modern business landscape.
A Strategic Initiative for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Launched in July, the “Economic Decision-Makers” program featured a series of high-value lectures and seminars delivered by experts across various economic fields. MP Ahmed Al Salloum, Chairman of the Society, stated that the curriculum was designed to address key challenges and opportunities within the current business environment, providing participants with a deep understanding of how to leverage information for effective decision-making. The core objective is to stimulate entrepreneurship and support the growth of SMEs, a cornerstone of the Society’s strategy.
Fostering Ecosystem Collaboration
The program’s success was highlighted as a model for effective collaboration between Bahrain’s public, private, and academic sectors. Al Salloum expressed gratitude for the support from Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, and praised the partnership with Ahlia University for its role in developing the curriculum and providing expert trainers. Khaled Najeebi, First Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, echoed this sentiment, stating the program exemplifies the integration needed to build a knowledgeable and sustainable business community in line with the Kingdom’s national vision.
Annual Program to Bolster National Growth
Following overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, the Society has committed to making the program an annual event. Al Salloum noted that this continuity is crucial for developing emerging startups and helping them adapt to evolving market demands. The initiative is viewed as a significant step toward building a strong, diversified economy and reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a leading entrepreneurial hub in the region. Najeebi added that such investments in human capital are essential for empowering the private sector to become a primary engine for national growth.
