In a significant boost for Bahrain’s female-led startup ecosystem, the Reyadat Center for the Development of Bahraini Women’s Capabilities has officially welcomed two new initiatives: the BizGrow business accelerator and the Majalah Market incubator. Managed by the Bahraini Foundation for Entrepreneurship, the launch of these programs aims to provide targeted support for small and home-based businesses, particularly in the food and beverage sector.
A Dual Approach to Growth
The two new programs offer distinct but complementary support for entrepreneurs at different stages of their journey:
- BizGrow Accelerator: This new accelerator arm is focused on enhancing the market readiness of small projects. BizGrow will provide a suite of services including specialized training programs, product showcases, and networking events designed to help women entrepreneurs scale their businesses and prepare for market launch.
- Majalah Market Incubator: Managed by the BizGrow accelerator, Majalah Market is a unique incubator combined with a physical retail store. It is dedicated exclusively to selling Bahraini food products sourced from home-based and micro-enterprises. The goal is to provide these businesses with a crucial platform for display and marketing, enabling them to transition their products to larger markets and enter the formal commercial sector.
A Strategic Boost for Female Founders
The launch, which coincided with Bahraini Women’s Day, represents a strategic move to diversify economic opportunities for women in the Kingdom. Hala Al-Ansari, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women, noted that the initiative aligns perfectly with the Reyadat Center’s goals of fostering innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of female founders in both local and global markets.
The initiative provides a tangible pathway for small-scale and home-based businesses, giving them the support and visibility needed to grow into organized commercial enterprises.
Strong Ecosystem Backing
The launch event highlighted the strong, unified support for female entrepreneurship in Bahrain, with attendance from key ecosystem leaders including the CEOs of Tamkeen and Bahrain Development Bank Group, alongside the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women. This collaboration underscores a national commitment to empowering women in business.
About The Organizers
The new programs are managed by the Bahraini Foundation for Entrepreneurship and are hosted at the Reyadat Center, a leading hub dedicated to supporting and developing the capabilities of Bahraini women entrepreneurs.
