Capital University‘s Faculty of Technology and Education recently partnered with the National Bank of Egypt to host a workshop aimed at equipping students with the essential knowledge for launching and managing small enterprises. The event, titled “Entrepreneurship and the Establishment and Support of Small Projects by the National Bank,” reflects a growing strategic alignment between academic and financial institutions to bolster the nation’s startup ecosystem.
Fostering an Entrepreneurial Mindset
The workshop, held under the patronage of university leadership including President Dr. Al-Sayed Qandil, brought together students keen on exploring entrepreneurship. The primary objective was to move beyond theoretical knowledge and provide practical insights into the business world, encouraging a shift towards self-employment and individual initiative among the next generation of professionals.
The high level of engagement and active Q&A sessions during the event underscored a rising awareness among students of the importance of building independent ventures in today’s market.
Bridging Theory and Practical Support
Reem Mohamed, representing the National Bank of Egypt, led the session, covering critical topics for aspiring founders. Key areas of discussion included the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, the stages of project development from ideation to execution, and the distinction between traditional and entrepreneurial ventures.
Mohamed also detailed the non-financial services offered by the bank, providing students with a clear understanding of the support mechanisms available to them beyond capital. A significant part of the workshop focused on idea validation techniques, a crucial step to de-risk a new venture before committing significant resources. This collaboration aims to create an innovative generation capable of transforming ideas into real investment opportunities.
