Careem Pay, the digital payments arm of the region’s everything app, has expanded its remittance services, now allowing UAE residents to send money directly to bank accounts in Türkiye and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The move deepens Careem Pay’s push into the competitive regional fintech space, adding two major corridors to its network of over 35 countries.

Tackling Key Market Demands
The expansion targets two distinct market needs. For the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, transfers are capped at AED 36,000 per transaction, focusing on a market where trust and security in cross-border flows are critical. For Türkiye, where transfer delays have been a common pain point for its large diaspora, Careem Pay offers a maximum limit of AED 150,000 and promises funds will land in under 10 minutes.
This strategic rollout aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of increasing financial inclusion, while also addressing the high demand for reliable, high-value transfers from the UAE to Türkiye, driven by an estimated 6.5 million Turkish citizens living abroad.
Mohammad El Saadi, VP of Careem Pay, explained the strategy behind the launch. “These two corridors were natural next steps for us, and each one reflects a different customer need. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, people want to know their money is moving securely and that trust matters as much as the speed. For Türkiye, slow transfers and uncertainty about when the money actually lands has been an issue. We’re solving that with funds arriving in under 10 minutes.”
