Central Bank of Bahrain Concludes First Cohort of GP15 Financial Talent Program

3 Min Read

The Central Bank of Bahrain has officially closed the inaugural run of its GP15 Graduate Development Program, marking a strong start for its national talent incubation strategy. Aimed at accelerating the entry of young professionals into the local financial sector, the initiative successfully guided all fifteen of its first-cohort participants directly into professional career paths upon completion.

Quick Facts

  • All 15 participants secured professional career paths.

  • Training featured a comprehensive six-month practical curriculum.

  • Cohort two applications opening soon for local talent.

Bridging the Skills Gap in Bahrain’s Financial Sector

The GP15 initiative operates as a structured pipeline designed to embed early-career professionals into the local financial ecosystem. Over a six-month period, the graduates engaged in a hybrid curriculum that paired hands-on work across various CBB directorates with specialized academic sessions.

To deliver the technical training, the CBB partnered with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). This combination of theoretical coursework and direct engagement with established financial sector leaders gave participants the required technical expertise and professional readiness to enter the workforce with immediate impact.

Fatema Mohamed Ali, Director of Human Resources at CBB and Program Director, stated that the transition rate highlights the strong potential of local talent. She pointed out the necessity of specialized frameworks to prepare young professionals, enabling them to actively participate in Bahrain’s broader economic development right from the start of their careers.

Practical Exposure and Project-Based Learning

The program prioritizes applied experience over purely theoretical observation. Participants were placed in dynamic work environments, taking on project-based assignments that mirror the daily operational realities of a central banking institution.

Yousif Khalid Turk, a GP15 participant, emphasized the value of this approach. He noted that active involvement in live projects allowed the cohort to refine their practical skills and build the confidence necessary for immediate workplace integration.

About the GP15 Graduate Development Program

Driven by the Central Bank of Bahrain, the GP15 Graduate Development Program is an intensive, six-month talent accelerator aimed at equipping Bahraini graduates with advanced technical expertise in finance and banking. Following the 100% professional transition rate of its inaugural class, the CBB plans to open applications for the second cohort in the near term to further strengthen national competitiveness in the financial market.
