Cisco Expands AI-Powered IT Platform With New AgenticOps Innovations

3 Min Read

Global technology leader Cisco has announced significant new innovations for its AgenticOps platform, designed to simplify and scale IT operations in the era of artificial intelligence. The new capabilities, unveiled from Dubai, UAE, extend across networking, security, and observability, aiming to transform how IT teams manage increasingly complex digital infrastructures.

The Shift to AgenticOps

First introduced last year, AgenticOps represents a fundamental shift in IT management, moving towards an “agent-first” operating model that uses AI for autonomous action with built-in human oversight. This approach is designed to tackle the growing complexity of operating and securing distributed networks and infrastructure.

Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco, highlighted the platform’s potential, stating, “This is the true power of Cisco as a platform. By delivering agentic capabilities aligned to critical IT operations priorities, we’re combining Cisco’s unique cross‑domain visibility, purpose-built models, and governance together to supercharge teams.”

Expanding Capabilities Across Domains

Cisco is extending its agentic-driven operations to support IT teams across cloud, on-premise, enterprise, and data center environments. The new tools and platform enhancements include:

  • Intelligent Network Operations: New features provide autonomous troubleshooting for campus and industrial networks, context-aware recommendations to prevent performance issues, and risk-aware validation for network changes. For data centers, AgenticOps enables early detection and prescriptive recommendations to optimize performance.
  • Turbocharged Security Operations: Within the Cisco Security Cloud Control, the platform now offers proactive analysis to recommend more robust zero-trust controls, troubleshooting for firewall performance issues, and continuous compliance evaluation against standards like PCI-DSS.
  • Enhanced Observability: Through AI Agent Monitoring in Splunk Observability Cloud, teams can now track the performance, cost, and behavior of Large Language Model (LLM) and agentic applications, providing crucial visibility into their workflows.

Relevance for the MENA Tech Ecosystem

For the rapidly digitizing MENA region, Cisco’s advancements in AI-driven IT operations are particularly timely. As enterprises across the GCC and beyond accelerate their adoption of cloud technologies, IoT, and complex network architectures to power smart cities and digital economies, the challenge of managing this infrastructure grows exponentially.

AgenticOps offers a path for MENA-based businesses, from large enterprises to service providers, to automate routine tasks, reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) for critical issues, and proactively manage their networks and security posture. This allows skilled IT professionals to focus on strategic innovation rather than manual operations, enhancing digital resilience and supporting scalable growth in a competitive global market.
