The Syrian province of Daraa has launched a new Entrepreneurship Conference, marking the beginning of its Entrepreneurship Week. Organized by the Eyes of Daraa Foundation in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network, the event operates under the theme “Together We Build” and aims to galvanize the region’s youth to play a central role in economic development and rebuilding efforts.
The conference convened a diverse group of young entrepreneurs, established business leaders, and industry experts at the Arab Cultural Center in Daraa city. The initiative serves as a critical platform to empower young innovators, develop their skills, and strengthen their contribution to the local economy.
Fostering a New Era of Innovation
Anwar Al-Zoubi, the Governor of Daraa, emphasized the province’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of creators. He stated that the launch of Entrepreneurship Week aligns with the growing role of youth in Syria’s reconstruction and reflects the governorate’s strategy to support entrepreneurial ventures and creative ideas.
Al-Zoubi highlighted that these initiatives are essential for achieving sustainable economic, social, and technological development. He affirmed that the youth of Daraa have demonstrated resilience and a capacity to overcome challenges, pledging the governorate’s full support for promising entrepreneurial projects.
Legislative Support for a Thriving Ecosystem
Addressing the legal framework required to support innovators, Adnan Al-Masalma, a member of the People’s Assembly, stressed the importance of legislative action. He called for modernizing laws, simplifying licensing procedures, and strengthening intellectual property protections.
These measures, he explained, are crucial for enabling entrepreneurs to transform their creative ideas into productive and successful ventures that contribute to the broader economy.
A Platform for Promising Ventures
Obaida Abu Qwaider, one of the event organizers, described the conference as a vital showcase for entrepreneurial talent within the province. He noted that the event provides a direct channel for innovators to present their projects and highlighted the state’s readiness to embrace initiatives with the potential for significant positive social impact.
The conference agenda includes a series of workshops and discussion panels, bringing together entrepreneurs and experts to exchange knowledge and explore pathways for enhancing the business environment in Syria.
