The Dubai Future Foundation has announced the conclusion of the second edition of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) Accelerator Programme, a pivotal initiative connecting innovative AI companies from the UAE and across the globe with Dubai’s government entities. The program aims to co-create and deploy advanced AI solutions to enhance the efficiency and performance of public services.
From 1,300 Applicants to Public Sector Solutions
The highly competitive program selected its final cohort from a pool of 1,300 global submissions from entrepreneurs and technology firms. The challenges were meticulously defined, drawing from 105 distinct use cases submitted by over 20 Dubai government entities, ensuring that the developed solutions address genuine public sector needs.
During the programme’s demo day, the participating companies presented the solutions they co-developed with their government partners. The event was attended by Chief AI Officers from across the public sector, highlighting the government’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge technology.
A Glimpse into AI-Powered Governance
The showcased solutions demonstrated the broad potential of AI to revolutionize public services. Key innovations included enterprise-level GenAI productivity tools for government employees, an AI system for the preservation and restoration of archaeological artifacts, and intelligent AI assistants designed to support call centre teams.
Other notable projects featured predictive analytics tools for financial systems, AI-driven methodologies for conducting population surveys, and self-assessment tools for patient symptoms. The cohort also developed AI agents for managing customer complaints, systems for dynamic ambulance deployment, personalized sports itinerary generators, and tools for automated data management.
Fostering Public-Private Collaboration
Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of DCAI, commented on the program’s success, stating, “The second edition DCAI Accelerator Programme saw strong collaboration between the public and private sectors to design and deliver effective services and solutions for current and future challenges. These efforts directly support the objectives of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence.”
The demo day also included a panel discussion on accelerating innovation within the public sector, featuring insights from Huda Al Shaikh, Chief AI Officer at the Department of Finance; Marwan Anbar, Chief AI Officer at Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services; and Fatma Alkhaja, Chief AI Officer at the Dubai Health Authority.
A Founder-Friendly Framework
A key attraction for participating startups is the program’s favorable framework. Companies retain 100 percent ownership of their intellectual property while gaining direct opportunities to collaborate with government entities to pilot and implement their solutions. This unique access allows them to build relationships with key decision-makers and explore pathways for local, regional, and global expansion.
