Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has made a landmark move in digital government, becoming the first government entity and utility provider worldwide to launch its services directly on the ChatGPT Apps Directory. This initiative places the UAE at the forefront of AI-driven public service delivery and reinforces Dubai’s position as a global technology hub.
The integration moves beyond traditional websites and mobile applications, meeting customers on the AI platforms they increasingly use for daily interactions.
Reshaping Public Service Delivery With AI
The launch marks a significant transformation in how government services are accessed, shifting from conventional digital models to a comprehensive system integrated with leading AI platforms.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, commented on the initiative, stating, “The ‘AI Integration and Operating Services’ initiative is a pivotal step in our journey to reshape government services in the AI era, transitioning from traditional digital interaction models to a comprehensive service system integrated with global AI platforms.”
He further explained that this integration allows users to engage with DEWA’s services through intelligent, conversational interfaces, including ChatGPT and multi-agent systems.
Immediate Access to Core Services
Through the ChatGPT platform, DEWA customers can now perform a range of essential tasks. Available services include bill inquiries, accessing account details, and receiving billing support.
Users can also find locations for EV Green Chargers, get directions to the nearest station, and access information on Customer Happiness Centre locations, operating hours, and contact details.
DEWA has confirmed that additional services will be rolled out gradually, adhering to its robust governance, security, and privacy framework, further enhancing the user experience in the near future.
