A high-level delegation from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, recently visited the headquarters of Dell Technologies in Austin, Texas. The visit aimed to explore and enhance the strategic collaboration between the two entities, focusing on pioneering future-ready and sustainable utility services through cutting-edge digital solutions.
A High-Level Dialogue on Digital Transformation
During the visit, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer met with Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies, to discuss avenues for deepening their partnership. The conversation centered on leveraging Dell’s extensive expertise in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and cybersecurity to accelerate DEWA’s journey towards becoming a globally leading sustainable and innovative corporation.
The discussions align with DEWA’s commitment to supporting Dubai’s ambitious goals, including the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.
Leveraging Advanced Technologies for a Sustainable Future
The collaboration seeks to harness a suite of advanced technologies to revolutionize the utility sector. These technologies will be instrumental in improving operational efficiency, enhancing energy and water management, and elevating the customer experience.
Furthermore, the partnership will explore the use of digital twin technology, which creates a virtual model of physical assets, allowing for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and optimized performance of DEWA’s infrastructure.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized the importance of such collaborations in achieving their strategic objectives.
“We are working to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global hub for the digital economy and to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world. This is in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.”
