DMCC Strengthens Tech Hub Status With Influx Of European Firms

3 Min Read

Dubai’s leading business district, DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), has announced a significant 10% year-over-year increase in the number of companies from both the United Kingdom and Switzerland establishing a presence in its free zone. The announcement concludes a successful European roadshow in London and Zürich that focused on attracting businesses in high-growth sectors like technology, climate tech, and innovation.

A Growing European Hub In Dubai

The latest figures highlight DMCC’s success in attracting European enterprises to the emirate. The business district is now home to nearly 2,200 British companies, with almost 200 joining in the past 12 months alone. The number of Swiss companies is approaching 450, reflecting a broader 120% surge in non-oil trade between the UAE and Switzerland in the first half of 2025. Combined, firms from these two European nations now total over 2,650, representing more than 10% of DMCC’s nearly 26,000 member companies.

Fostering Tech and Web3 Ecosystems

The growth is increasingly led by the technology sector, with one in ten British companies registered in DMCC operating in this field. Reinforcing its commitment to emerging technologies, DMCC also participated as a Platinum Sponsor at the CV Summit in Zürich, a premier conference for AI, blockchain, and digital assets. This move builds on DMCC’s landmark partnership with Switzerland’s CV VC, aimed at creating a strong ecosystem bridge between Dubai and Zug’s “Crypto Valley” to scale global Web3 adoption.

A Gateway For Global Expansion

The roadshow underscored DMCC’s value proposition as a launchpad for European businesses seeking to access high-growth global markets. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, stated that forward-looking companies require global reach, scaling platforms, and converging ecosystems, all of which DMCC provides. He added, “For Europe’s entrepreneurs, scale-ups and multinationals, Dubai – and DMCC in particular – has become the launchpad where innovation translates into global impact.”
