The fifth edition of the Dot Next Jadeer Program, a national initiative dedicated to youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, recently concluded at a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Sohar Hotel. Organized by Ouj Company, the program successfully engaged over 1,800 participants from across Oman, equipping them with the essential skills to navigate the modern workforce and contribute to the nation’s economic goals.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.E. Salim bin Muslim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, and attended by officials from both the public and private sectors.
A Multi-Faceted Approach to Skill Development
This year’s program focused on a comprehensive curriculum designed to foster innovation and practical business acumen. The core components included a tech-focused entrepreneurial boot camp, hands-on applied workshops, insightful field visits, and specialized mentorship sessions.
Participants delved into key areas such as design thinking, business model creation, project management, and market readiness. The training also honed crucial soft skills, including pitching, presentation, market sizing, and marketing strategy, preparing a new generation of Omani talent for both traditional employment and freelance careers.
Driving National Impact and Vision 2040
Dot Next Jadeer is a strategic initiative aimed at aligning the skills of Omani youth with the evolving demands of the job market, directly supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. By hosting its main boot camp in the North Al Batinah Governorate, the program also highlighted its commitment to fostering economic and tourism development across different regions of the Sultanate.
Eng. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Ibrahim, Director of the Dot Next Jadeer Program, emphasized the program’s success. “The program has achieved its goal of empowering Omani youth with the practical and cognitive skills that qualify them to enter the job market with confidence,” he stated.
Al Ibrahim noted that the significant turnout reflects a growing awareness among youth about the importance of entrepreneurship and freelance work as viable future paths. “Dot Next Jadeer will continue to evolve its content and programs to keep pace with the rapid changes in the labor market and the needs of the national economy,” he added.
Celebrating Innovation and Future Leaders
The program’s conclusion featured a final showcase where participants presented their entrepreneurial projects and innovative ideas to a specialized judging committee. The event celebrated promising Omani youth capable of leading future ventures and developing practical, innovative solutions for several key sectors.
The closing ceremony recognized the contributions of all participants, experts, mentors, and strategic partners. Top honors were awarded to the first, second, and third-place projects. Special recognition was also given through the ‘Alama Award’ for the best marketing plan and the ‘Al Razi Pharmacy Award’ for the two most promising ideas in the healthcare sector.
