Dubai Chambers has successfully concluded an official trade mission to Dublin, Ireland, as part of its ‘Growth Corridors’ initiative aimed at strengthening economic partnerships and opening new avenues for trade and investment. The visit focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation across strategic sectors, with a significant emphasis on technology and innovation.
Engaging Ireland’s Innovation And Startup Hubs
A key focus of the mission was to connect with Ireland’s thriving innovation ecosystem. The Dubai delegation, led by H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, visited several of the country’s leading entrepreneurship centers. These included Dogpatch Labs, Ireland’s top startup hub with over 250 tech startups; the Guinness Enterprise Center (GEC), which supports more than 120 emerging businesses; and NovaUCD, the innovation hub of University College Dublin. These visits provided valuable insights and created opportunities to explore synergies between Ireland’s tech scene and Dubai’s rapidly expanding digital landscape.
Fostering Strategic Economic Partnerships
The delegation held a series of high-level meetings with key public and private sector stakeholders to advance bilateral cooperation. Engagements with organizations such as Enterprise Ireland, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the Irish Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), and the Ireland Foreign Direct Investment Agency (IDA) centered on boosting collaboration in diverse sectors including financial services, transport and logistics, venture capital, and digital industries. Discussions highlighted the comprehensive support Dubai offers to Irish companies looking to leverage the emirate as a gateway to regional and global markets.
A Growing Bilateral Trade Relationship
The trade mission builds on a solid foundation of economic ties between the two markets. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Ireland reached AED 4.1 billion in 2024, marking a 20% year-on-year growth. The number of Irish companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce continues to rise, with 62 new companies joining in the first half of 2025, bringing the total number of active Irish member companies to 460.
