The economic corridor between the UAE and India is deepening. Dubai Chambers has announced a new joint action plan with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) designed to scale bilateral trade and startup investment, specifically targeting high-growth technology sectors.
Quick Facts
- Partnership links Dubai Chambers and India’s CII.
- Focuses on fintech, medtech, healthtech, and agritech sectors.
- Builds on an initial MoU signed last April.
Prioritizing the Digital Economy and Startup Investments
The collaboration between the two economic organizations places a strong emphasis on future-focused industries. The core of the action plan targets the digital economy, heavily indexing on verticals such as fintech, medtech, healthtech, and agritech, while also addressing education, agriculture, and food products.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, noted that the historical ties between the two markets offer a strong foundation for high-value opportunities. He emphasized that these conditions can accelerate bilateral capital flows and strengthen ties between private sector companies in Dubai and India.
Expanding India’s Private Sector Footprint in Dubai
This strategic move advances an initial Memorandum of Understanding established in April last year. Under this framework, the chamber actively supports Indian enterprises looking to establish or expand their operational footprint within the emirate.
Lootah added that the chamber is committed to providing integrated support for Indian investors and tech entrepreneurs. The organization offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to ensure the expansion of their businesses using Dubai as a springboard for regional and international growth.
The strategy meeting, co-led by CII Director-General Chandrajit Banerjee alongside senior representatives from both entities, reinforces the active corridor for cross-border capital, trade, and talent flow between the two regions.
