Dubai Insurance Company, in a landmark move for the region’s financial services industry, has announced the launch of the first digital wallet for crypto assets in the UAE insurance sector. The new solution, developed in partnership with institutional-grade custodian Zodia Custody, positions the company as a pioneer in adopting next-generation insurance technologies.

Bridging Insurance and Digital Assets

The newly launched wallet enables policyholders to seamlessly transact using digital assets, allowing for the secure receipt of insurance premiums and the efficient payment of claims. This initiative is designed to significantly enhance the customer experience while streamlining internal operational processes, reflecting the company’s commitment to innovation as the financial landscape evolves.

Abdellatif Abuqurah, CEO of Dubai Insurance, commented on the launch, stating, “With the launch of our first digital asset wallet, we are embracing innovation in line with the UAE’s vision to lead the future of digital finance.”

“As digital assets become part of everyday financial life, we believe insurers have a clear role to play in providing security, strong governance, and confidence in a changing landscape,” Abuqurah added.

A Strategic Partnership for Secure Custody

The collaboration with Zodia Custody ensures that the digital wallet is built on an institutional-grade custody platform. This provides an advanced security architecture and adheres to global compliance standards, guaranteeing that customer transactions are secure, transparent, and operationally robust.

“Dubai Insurance’s launch of a crypto-enabled digital wallet is a meaningful step forward in bringing digital assets into everyday financial services in the Middle East,” said Zane Suren, Managing Director, Commercial, Middle East and Africa at Zodia Custody. “Through Zodia Custody’s partnership with Dubai Insurance, customers will have institutional-grade custody and controls that help make premium payments and claims settlement in digital assets secure, transparent, and operationally robust.”

Aligning with the UAEs Digital Vision

This launch directly supports the UAE’s broader digital economy ambitions and national blockchain strategy. By integrating digital assets into traditional insurance services, Dubai Insurance not only sets a new benchmark for the regional industry but also reinforces the country’s growing reputation as a global hub for fintech and digital innovation.
