A new generation of ambitious Qatari women, nurtured within the ecosystem of Qatar Foundation’s Education City, are making significant strides in social entrepreneurship, sports, and global advocacy. These leaders exemplify the unique talent and drive fostered by the nation’s premier educational hub.

Fatima Al Mohannadi: Championing Inclusivity on the World Stage

Fatima Al Mohannadi’s journey began in the fifth grade with a first-place video competition entry raising awareness about autism, inspired by her sister. This initial spark ignited a passion that has transformed personal empathy into powerful global action.

Today, Al Mohannadi is a student at Georgetown University and has become a prominent advocate for human dignity and inclusivity. Her path led her from high school Model UN debates to becoming the youngest member of the “Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations” program.

Driven to scale her impact, Al Mohannadi founded “Mobaderin,” a platform dedicated to expanding her awareness and educational work. She also authored a book, “Me and Hia,” which tells her story from the perspective of a child learning to love and understand her sister, further amplifying her message of compassion and change.

Hanaa Al Khater: Redefining Excellence in Sports and Science

Hanaa Al Khater demonstrates that excellence does not require choosing between passions. A student at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, she is pursuing a degree in biological sciences while simultaneously competing as a member of Qatar’s national volleyball team.

Al Khater serves as a sports ambassador for Qatar Foundation, where she actively organizes women’s sporting events to encourage broader participation. Despite the demanding schedules of her studies and athletic commitments, she has dedicated over 200 hours to community service, embodying a commitment to leadership and mentorship.

Moza Al Hajri: A Global Voice for Arabic Discourse

Moza Al Hajri has channeled her passion for dialogue and politics into becoming a world champion debater, elevating the Arabic language on the international stage. An alumna of Georgetown University in Qatar, she views debate not merely as competition but as a tool for understanding, empathy, and finding common ground.

Al Hajri credits QatarDebate, which she likens to the “FIFA of the Arab debating world,” for providing unparalleled training and opportunities. At Georgetown, she was instrumental in formalizing the Arabic debate team, creating a platform for students to engage with complex issues from an authentic regional perspective.

Under her leadership, the team became a formidable force. Al Hajri emphasizes that their success came from a commitment to originality. “We were not translating or imitating Western frameworks,” she explained. “We were thinking in our language and formulating our ideas according to our own perspective.”
