The Red Sea branch of the National Council for Women has successfully concluded the tenth training session of its “Entrepreneurship” program, a key initiative aimed at fostering economic empowerment for women through targeted education and skill development. The event culminated in the announcement of a new funding initiative to support promising ventures developed during the program.

Fostering a New Wave of Entrepreneurs

The intensive two-day training program was held from October 11-12, 2025, at the Hurghada Sports Club, engaging a cohort of 25 aspiring female entrepreneurs. The sessions were led by Aliaa El-Gendy, a certified trainer from the International Labour Organization (ILO). Participants received comprehensive instruction on critical business fundamentals, including strategic planning, marketing, developing a business model canvas, and navigating the legal requirements for project licensing.

New Funding Initiative Launched

A significant development during the event was the announcement by Eng. Osama Ezzat Aql, Chairman of the Free Hurghada Youth Association. Praising the program’s high academic standards and its interactive nature, he unveiled a new initiative by the association to provide funding for a selection of standout projects emerging from the training. This move provides a crucial pathway from education to execution, offering tangible support for women-led businesses in the region.

A National Vision for Economic Empowerment

The “Entrepreneurship” program is part of a broader national strategy to empower women to overcome financial challenges by equipping them with the tools to launch and manage their own businesses. The National Council for Women plans to continue these training sessions across the cities of Hurghada, Quseir, and Ras Ghareb throughout the 2025/2026 fiscal year, with an ambitious goal of training 1,700 women in project management in collaboration with specialized trainers.
