Egypt Cements Its AI Leadership With Inaugural Ai Everything MEA Summit

Egypt is set to reinforce its position as a leading AI hub in Africa and the Middle East with the upcoming Ai Everything MEA Egypt 2026 summit. Scheduled for February 11-12 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, the event arrives as artificial intelligence is projected to add over US$1.5 trillion to Africa’s GDP by 2030, positioning Egypt at the forefront of this economic transformation

Hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and presented by GITEX, the event aligns with the nation’s Second National AI Strategy. It aims to accelerate sovereign AI capabilities and attract international investment, building on Egypt’s status as first in Africa for Government AI Readiness and third in the Arab region for AI Resilience.

Global Tech Giants And Regional Leaders Converge In Cairo

The summit will feature more than 350 AI enterprises and startups from over 30 countries, showcasing production-scale AI deployments across key sectors like cloud, cybersecurity, fintech, and healthcare. Industry titans including Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, Capgemini, and e& will be present, alongside prominent MEA enterprises such as Alkan, Cyshield, and WideBot AI, MENA’s leading Arabic-first AI-as-a-Service platform.

Mohamed El Kassem, General Manager at Microsoft Egypt, commented on the nation’s progress, “Generative AI is reshaping what’s possible for nations that are ready to embrace it, and Egypt is stepping confidently into that future. Egypt Emerges As Africa’s Top Startup Funding Hub

The event also highlights Egypt’s thriving startup ecosystem, which raised over $339 million in the first half of 2025, accounting for 31% of Africa’s total startup funding. This has established the country as a hotspot for AI entrepreneurship.
Participating startups include local innovators like Olimi AI, whose multilingual agents understand various Arabic dialects, offering localized solutions beyond generic AI models. Shaden El Olimi, CCO of Olimi AI, shared, “Ai Everything MEA Egypt brings together the pioneers navigating this frontier, and we’re excited to showcase how this philosophy has shaped our approach to Arabic voice AI.”

Sovereign AI Takes Center Stage

The summit will deliver high-level discussions on leveraging AI to drive GDP growth, sovereignty, and industry transformation. Key speakers include Dr. Michel Rogy from The World Bank, Zsuzsanna Hargitai from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and executives from Cerebras and Tenstorrent.

These leaders will address the critical challenges and opportunities in building sovereign AI capabilities, from securing computing capacity to designing scalable national and enterprise AI architectures. The sessions will explore the hard realities behind national AI ambitions and the path to ensuring AI delivers tangible economic and social impact.
