Egypt Launches Tech and Entrepreneurship Initiatives for School Students

The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in collaboration with the Education Development Fund, has announced the launch of two major initiatives for school students: the “Digital Summer” competition and the “Start Your Project.. You Are Not Young” initiative. Both programs are aimed at students aged 13 to 18.

Program Overview and Mission

These two initiatives are a core part of Egypt’s national strategy to empower its youth, build their technological and entrepreneurial capabilities, and prepare them for the modern digital economy. The programs are designed to instill a culture of innovation and freelance work from an early stage, in line with the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.

Initiative 1: The ‘Digital Summer’ Competition

This competition is focused on developing students’ technological and social skills through a package of digital courses that can lead to international certifications.

  • Focus Areas: The training will cover high-demand fields such as Network Technician and Cyber Security Technician, in collaboration with the global company Cisco.
  • Prizes: The competition will run for two months during the summer, with valuable prizes awarded to the top ten students from each governorate, the top ten participating academies nationwide, and the best trainers.

Initiative 2: The ‘Start Your Project’ Initiative

This initiative is designed to develop students’ entrepreneurship skills and financial awareness by encouraging them to present innovative, real-world business ideas.

  • Training and Funding: The initiative includes an integrated training program called “Khatwa” (Step) to qualify students in the foundations of entrepreneurship and project management. The best projects submitted will receive funding.

Who Should Apply?

These opportunities are designed for:

  • Students in the preparatory and secondary school stages.
  • Individuals aged between 13 and 18.
  • Students enrolled in any educational institution in the Republic of Egypt.
