Egypt’s Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) has announced an extension for applications to the YIELD project, an EU-funded initiative aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs developing deep tech solutions. The program targets innovators from Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine, alongside Greece and Italy, providing a cross-Mediterranean platform for building sustainable businesses.

Fostering Deep Tech Solutions for a Green Economy
The YIELD project, funded by the EU’s Interreg NEXT MED program, is an innovation challenge designed for entrepreneurs focused on the Blue, Green, and Circular Economy (BGCE). The initiative seeks teams building solutions that use technologies like AI, IoT, Robotics, and CleanTech to address pressing regional issues.
Key focus areas for the challenge include water security, smart energy, waste management, and climate resilience. The program aligns with Egypt’s national strategy to invest in its talent pool and prepare its youth for the global technology market by providing direct exposure to international research and development environments.
Accelerating 50 Startups Across the Mediterranean
A total of 50 teams—10 from each participating country—will be selected to join the program. These startups will gain access to a structured support system designed to help them transform market-ready ideas into viable companies.
