In a significant move to advance the economic and political empowerment of women, the International Foundation for Entrepreneurship hosted a motivational event as part of its ambitious “Women’s Empowerment” program. The session, under the “Be Influential” initiative, convened a diverse group of women running micro-enterprises to provide them with crucial skills and civic awareness.

Fostering Grassroots Entrepreneurship

The event, supervised by Dr. Ghada Al-Dakhakhny, Chairman of the Foundation, and Ashraf Othman, Administrative Director, brought together female founders from various sectors. These included businesses in tailoring, meal preparation, baking, and the production of artisanal goods like pickles and soap, showcasing the innovative capacity of Egyptian women at the grassroots level. The program featured an intensive entrepreneurship awareness session led by Dr. Dina Abdel Alim, a certified development and entrepreneurship consultant, who shared her expertise in economic empowerment to instill fundamental principles of small project management and sustainability.

Integrating Civic And Economic Empowerment

A core focus of the gathering was the political and social role of women. Engineer Marwa El-Tahawy, Secretary-General for Women in the Egyptians Party, led a session to educate attendees on the importance of active participation in upcoming elections and understanding parliamentary representation. El-Tahawy emphasized that women must be influential not only as successful project owners but also as essential partners in national decision-making. The key message highlighted that political and economic empowerment are two sides of the same coin, securing women’s leadership role in the nation’s future.
