EVRaid, a deep-tech company specializing in electric vehicle (EV) technologies, has officially received the Egyptian Startup Label Charter. This recognition marks EVRaid as one of the first Egyptian deep-tech firms focused on the local development and manufacturing of electric propulsion systems to achieve this status.

A Strategic Push for Localized Technology

The official acknowledgment highlights a growing trend within Egypt to localize advanced technological industries, particularly those crucial for the transition to a green economy.

Sherif Diab, Founder and CEO of EVRaid, stated that the recognition reflects the Egyptian government’s increasing focus on domesticating high-tech sectors, with EV propulsion systems being a vital component.

Diab explained that developing this technology locally is a strategic step toward building an advanced industrial base in the EV sector. This move is expected to reduce the country’s reliance on imports and significantly enhance its domestic manufacturing and technological capabilities.

Driving Innovation in Egypt’s Green Economy

By engineering solutions in-house, EVRaid aims to accelerate the nationwide shift towards electric transportation. This initiative not only supports sustainability goals but also opens new avenues for innovation within the automotive sector and strengthens Egypt’s overall innovation ecosystem.

Government Backing for Tech Innovators

EVRaid’s classification was awarded under the Startup Label initiative, a program supported by the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA). The initiative is designed to identify and support startups with significant technological innovations, fostering their growth and integration into the Egyptian economy.
