Egypt’s MCIT Launches Digitopia Competition with Prizes Worth EGP 10M

Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MICT) has launched the first edition of the national tech competition, Digitopia. With a total prize value of EGP 10 million, including a grand prize of up to EGP 1 million per track, the competition is one of the largest in the country’s ICT sector.


Program Overview and Mission

Digitopia is a national technology competition designed to engage and empower a wide range of participants, from school students to entrepreneurs. The mission is to encourage the development of fully-developed projects and innovative prototypes that contribute to tackling social and economic challenges. The competition also offers participants valuable training opportunities with global and local technology companies.


Key Competition Tracks

The competition is divided into three main tracks, with participants presenting innovative digital solutions in each:

  • Software and Artificial Intelligence Solutions
  • Gaming and Digital Arts
  • Cybersecurity

Who Can Participate?

Digitopia covers a wide range of age groups, from 10 to 35 years old. This includes:

  • School students
  • University students (public, private, and national)
  • Graduates
  • Entrepreneurs and startup founders

About the Organizers and Partners

The competition is organized under the supervision of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI), the Information Technology Institute (ITI), and Egypt University of Informatics (EUI). It also brings together a wide range of international and local partners, including the UNDP, Huawei Egypt, Cisco Egypt, Telecom Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, and e& Egypt.
