3 Min Read

In a significant move to bolster female entrepreneurship across Egypt, the National Council for Women (NCW) has launched a comprehensive Training of Trainers program. The initiative, titled “Start and Improve Your Business” (SIYB), is being conducted in collaboration with the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).

The program aims to equip 100 trainers from 15 governorates, including Damietta, Cairo, Alexandria, Assiut, Sohag, and others. The training sessions, which began on October 12, are scheduled to run until December 1, 2025, laying the groundwork for a long-term, sustainable support system for women in business.

Building A Network Of Mentors

The core objective of the initiative is to create a skilled network of coaches capable of delivering specialized training to female entrepreneurs in their local communities. This approach is designed to foster a culture of self-employment and provide women with the necessary tools to establish and scale their small enterprises.

Dalia Saeed, Director General of the Executive Secretariat of the President’s Office of the Council and Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Program, emphasized the program’s strategic importance. She stated that the training will empower the certified coaches to conduct specialized courses for beneficiaries across various governorates, thereby contributing to the support and development of women-led projects.

An ILO-Accredited Curriculum

The “Start and Improve Your Business” program is based on an internationally accredited training manual from the International Labour Organization (ILO), ensuring a high standard of education for participants.

The curriculum covers a wide range of essential topics for building entrepreneurial capacity. Key modules include generating and refining business ideas, developing effective marketing plans, estimating sales volumes and production costs, and determining labor and capital requirements. The training also guides participants through creating profitability plans and preparing a comprehensive execution strategy for their projects.
