Plstka, the Egypt-based climate tech startup, has successfully closed a $1 million investment round led by Empire Angles Bridge. The funding will be used to accelerate the company’s expansion across Egypt’s Delta region and enhance its mission to reshape the country’s waste management infrastructure through technology.

A Gamified Approach to Waste Management

Founded in 2021, Plstka has developed an innovative solution that combines a gamified loyalty application with a full-fledged ERP system. The platform rewards users for recycling solid waste, creating a powerful incentive for sustainable practices. Behind the user-facing app, the system leverages AI to optimize the entire waste supply chain, enhancing efficiency and scalability from collection to processing.

Scaling Impact Across The Delta

Plstka currently operates in four major cities: Tanta, El-Mahalla El-Kubra, Mansoura, and Shebin El-Kom. The company has already attracted over 50,000 active users, successfully recycling more than 1,500 tons of solid waste and generating $1.3 million in revenue. This new capital injection will fuel its expansion into six more cities, including Kafr El-Sheikh, Zagazig, Port Said, Damietta, Minya, and Assiut. The startup aims to grow its user base to 250,000 and process over 3,000 tons of waste, significantly amplifying its environmental and social impact.
